There are two models to choose from - the MobileStudio Pro 13 and 16. Both models include widescreen displays at 13.3 for the smaller and 15.6 in for the larger. For greater colour accuracy they both muster a wide-colour gamut with the 13 capable of displaying 96% of the Adobe RGB colour space, and the 16 capable of 94%. The screens are also multi-touch for those of you who like to use gestural commands such as pinch or zoom.
Wacom have been advancing their pen/screen technology and this new product features the fruits of their labour. Offering four times the pressure sensitivity of previous models (both Cintiq and Intuos tablets), you can look forward to 8,192 levels of sensitivite - affective for both the nib and the eraser.
VFX artists will enjoy the addition of two in-built cameras. A 5mp camera on the front for video calls and a 8mp camera on the back. The more powerful models of the MobileStudio Pro 13 and 16 feature a built-in Intel 3D RealSense camera and scanning software for the back camera allowing you to capture objects in 3D, and import into 3D applications like ZBrush or Mudbox.
Most importantly the power offered by this tablet is impressive. Choose up to 16GB of RAM, an Intel Core i7 processor and NVIDIA Quadro M1000M graphics, and up to 512GB of storage — making it a suitable addition to the workflow of product designers, CAD engineers and 3D sculptors. Similar to the Companion, you can hook the MobileStudio Pro up to your PC or Mac and use it as a standard Cintiq. It can also be used an additional reference monitor at your workstation - with the added bonus of taking it with you for client meetings or to continue your work remotely.
