New Caps and Bevels

Improved constraints and internal bevels, Delaunay cap skinning, and new library of bevel presets, including the ability to draw your own bevel profiles. Caps and bevels integrated on all the spline-based objects – lathe, loft, sweep, etc. Caps and bevels are created as a single object, with additional and more obvious selection sets for Shells and Edges. Option for linking start and end caps. 

Volume Modelling Enhancements

Streamlined and improved workflow of OpenVDB-based Volume Builder.

Cache Layer

Stores the results of multiple VDB layers for faster workflow when creating complex models and effects with the Cache Layer - can use Caches as the foundation for further adjustments - can be cleared at any time.

Vector Volumes

Create dramatic forms based on shape outlines. Direction values stored in volumes can be used in Field Force or Target Effector to guide particles, dynamic effects and MoGraph objects.

Improved UI for Volume Filters

Fog Volumes can now be filtered via Multiply or Invert operations - VDB filter types now available as dedicated objects as to be added and managed more easily.

Spline UI to Define Scale Along Spline

Ultimate control over volumes based on splines with curve-based UI to adjust the thickness of the volume at each point along the spline’s length.

Vertex Maps for Curvature 

Create Curvature maps when meshing a volume to use when shading and defining MoGraph and field-based effects. Add clones in nooks and color the crannies.

Modelling Core Updates

Improvements to primitives and key modelling tools. Copy and paste points and polygons between objects and scenes. Primitive caps automatically welded. Faster key modelling commands: Extrude, Extrude Inner, Weld, Split and Polygon Groups to Objects. Preserve UVs and other surface attributes.
