When it comes to HDR video editing and colour-accurate photo display, the EIZO ColorEdge CG279X is the latest in colour management hardware and software.
A professional 2560x1440px monitor, the CG279X comes equipped with HLG and the PQ gamma curve for editing HDR video content and a wide colour gamut for displaying vibrant images. There’s also a built-in sensor that can be set to calibrate the monitor automatically at designated times, eliminating the need for a third-party calibration device and ensuring the screen stays colour-accurate.
Featuring the latest sensor technology, the CG279X allows you to continue working even during recalibration. The sensor takes up minimal space – swinging onto the screen – so your work remains uninterrupted. (During recalibration, the screen's colours will be adjusted, so it is not recommended to carry out colour-critical work at this time.)
A new and improved solution for creatives combining all the features of EIZO's previous colour management software, ColorNavigator 7 is the latest calibration and quality control software for ColorEdge colour management monitors. It makes calibration simple and produces predictable results for video creation, photography, print, and design.
For ColorEdge monitors that have ColorNavigator 7 installed, ColorNavigator Network provides centralised quality control. Whether monitors are local or remote, admins can schedule self-calibration, register or adjust asset management settings, set colour modes, and perform other tasks as needed. Hosted on a secure cloud server, ColorNavigator Network can free you from the initial investment and running costs of providing your own server.
With Hybrid Log-Gamma and the Perceptual Quantization (PQ) curve, the ColorEdge CG279X is equipped for displaying and editing High Dynamic Range video content. Images render more true to how the human eye perceives the real world compared to Standard Dynamic Range thanks to the optimised gamma curves. This ensures HDR will be reliably displayed when editing and colour grading.
Reproduces 98% of the DCI-P3 standard used in digital cinema and supports the Rec 2020 standard used in broadcasting thanks to its wide gamut. Images shot in Adobe RGB will be displayed correctly as the monitor covers 99% of the Adobe RGB colour space.
True blacks are difficult to display on a typical LCD monitor; the ColorEdge CG279X complies with the DCI standard, offering a high contrast ratio of 1300:1 to combat the problem. Dark tones typically appear washed out due to the display characteristics of LCD backlights when viewing the screen from an angle in a dimly lit room; equipped with a retardation film, the CG series allows tones to retain their depth even when viewed from an angle.
