When NAB came to London…

Tuesday, 12 May 2015

As much as maybe we’d like to, it’s not always possible to journey to Las Vegas for a tech conference like NAB. And that seems to be the unfortunate reality for more and more professionals working in broadcast, VFX, games and animation. To resolve this we hosted an event right here in London sharing highlights of major announcements at NAB.

When NAB came to London…

The result? A geek fest where audience members could see live demos of new technologies being introduced by the likes of HP, Adobe, NVIDIA, Intel, Autodesk, Mellanox, Teradici, Wacom and The Foundry. And if you didn’t manage to make it to the live event - here are just some of the highlights from the event itself.

HP - Andy Hendry, Workstation & Thin Client Sales Manager
Introducing HP’s “Best in Show” winner Z Turbo Drive G2 as well as the OMEN Pro Mobile Workstation and their new line-up of displays.

Mellanox Technologies - Richard Hastie, Sales Director
Some highlights on how you can achieve cost effective interconnect and how Mellanox enables users to scale up to 4K ultra HD workflows as demands require it.

NVIDIA - Alex Micallef, EMEA Industry Business Development, Media & Entertainment
Snapshot of the work NVIDIA have been doing on physically based rendering, grid/remote working and a first look at the new Quadro products recently announced.

The Foundry - Jon Wadelton, CTO
Showing the range of exciting future tech that they've been keeping quiet, including work on AR/VR solutions and FTrack integration and a first glimpse of some brand new features coming to NUKE STUDIO within the next few months.
