Lee’s joined by Dave Goodbourn, Head of Systems at Milk VFX where together we set up a unique workflow between their facilities in London and Cardiff, and freelance colourist Jack Jones who is working with 4K playback at Roundtable Films' new post production facility. And Pixit Media’s Technical Director Barry Evans is on hand to discuss PixStor’s innovative software defined storage solution, which has been supporting this growth.
Post Production & Workflow Theatre
Come and see Limitless Workflow: how technology is better enabling growth in media companies at BVE on Wednesday 24th February at 2pm in the Post Production and Workflow Theatre - supported by Pixit Media, Dell and Intel.
As well as the talk, we’re also running demos on two stands at the show. Both of the technologies we’ll be presenting are speeding up workflows and increasing power in pipelines - not to be missed.
Live 4K Demo at Stand K11
Pixit Media are exhibiting their PixStor central NAS storage system on Stand K11. Showing off its capacity to work with industry standard commodity hardware and software, as well as linking to the Google Cloud Platform, the demonstration will include technologies from NetApp, Mellanox, Digital Vision, The Foundry and Adobe. We’re big fans of this new storage solution, and highly recommend seeing its benefits in action.
NVIDIA VCA + GPU Rendering at Stand J26
Our other live demo is of a technology just as revolutionary: the NVIDIA Quadro VCA will be on PNY’s stand at J26, which uses GPU image rendering to enable real-time look development. Working on HP Z620 workstations with the stunning Eizo CG318-4K monitors, the demo will show how design geometry can be altered in 3ds Max and Maya with instant feedback. And with Iray and V-Ray, you can see physically correct lighting and textures appear in a fraction of the time of traditional CPU renderers.
You can read Lee's article about the considerations involved in becoming 4K ready on the BVE blog.
We’re looking forward to an exciting show at BVE this year. See you at ExCel London on February 23rd-25th.
