Games London launches

London is known for many things. And it’s about to become a major game development hub too.

Games London launches

The Games London scheme is being delivered by Film London and Ukie, with funding from the Mayor of London’s office. It’s planning to attract foreign investment and build skills and training locally, to make the most of the Video Games Tax Relief that was introduced just over a year ago.

As it stands, games development is associated with areas like Leamington, Edinburgh and Dundee – but nowhere has anything like Soho’s centripetal force on the VFX industry, for example. We’re expecting a raft of new opportunities to come from Games London, so we’re watching with interest.

A festival in April has already been announced, with events across the capital. We'll be sharing more as we find out about it, so watch this space.
